Accomplished Study Programme in Research Excellence
Welcome to ASPIRE, a ground-breaking tripartite initiative spearheaded by Sheffield Hallam University in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University and Advance HE.
Crafted by Black academics specifically for Black students, this program focuses on fostering health, well-being, and empathetic dialogues to enhance the self-assurance of Black and Mixed-Black heritage students aspiring for doctoral studies.
Not only does ASPIRE empower students, but it also reciprocally enriches the understanding of supervisory teams on the often-overlooked topic of race and its significance in the ‘Black experience.’
Increasing the representation of Black scholars at doctoral level through personalised mentorship
